The Lord Mayor's Brisbane Buildings that Breathe Architecture Prize

CUSP was engaged from the beginning of the project to develop an integrated Landscape and Architectural design approach. ‘Buildings that Breath’ principles were applied in the project with natural light, breezeways and void spaces.
The Eminence features a purpose-built sky terrace for informal breakout spaces, outdoor meetings, morning yoga or a quiet lunch, with fantastic city views. The breakout spaces are separated by podium planters with trees, groundcovers and also partially covered with an arbour to support climbers.
Podium planting to climb up and cascade from each balcony will integrate with the iconic façade. The ground floor has a large planter with a specimen tree to highlight the corner of McLachlan Street and Morgan Street.
"The Buildings that Breathe prize aims to inspire subtropical building design in Brisbane so new buildings throughout the river city suit its subtropical climate, while delivering innovative and attractive design. The Eminence does all of that and more" - Brisbane Lord Mayor, Adrian Schrinner
