The overall masterplan is structured on a reflected ripple pattern originating from multiple inception points. The design arranges the major elements such as pathways, zones, shelters, and planting, within the pattern language of the ripple, resulting in a cohesive, well-structured, and invigorating open space.

At the core of the park is the sculptural oculus shelter, an 18-metre wide stainless steel disc, featuring a waterfall through its central opening as the water source point to the water play. The ceiling of the shelter reflects and distorts the surroundings, and with the addition of ground plane artwork and lighting, further increases its contribution to the space’s vitality.

Aura Peoples Place will be instrumental in providing the Aura township and the broader Sunshine Coast region with a diversity of recreational and community building opportunities.
