The masterplanning phase identified the opportunities, constraints and improvement strategies needed to leverage the existing and future tourism potential of the township and surrounding region. Central to this outcome was determining upgrade strategies for core community facilities and services to needed to support the township.
CUSP undertook a detailed site analysis before engaging in stakeholder and community consultation to inform the masterplan. As a result, a number of priority projects were identified to be undertaken over the next 4 years as a catalyst for both tourism and community growth. The first project, Knot-A-Saurus Park has commenced.
"The community... was given a ‘voice’ to express its short- and long-term issues, including flooding vulnerability, and few activities for the young. Drawing inspiration from the local perspective, CUSP provided well-considered and clearly articulated opportunities and constraints mapping. Overall the masterplan will ensure a more cohesive community and promote an increase in tourist attraction qualities, providing opportunities for growth and economic drivers, showcasing Eromanga as a tourism flagship destination" - Jury, 2021 AILA QLD
